Welcome to the Vancouver (WA) Branch of AAUW
Welcome to an organization of university women based in Vancouver, Washington. Vancouver is located in the southwest corner of Washington state along the Columbia River in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Vancouver AAUW draws its members from the city of Vancouver as well as several surrounding cities and counties in Washington.
Our association, a branch of state and national organizations, was founded in 1931 to become part of the national organization formed in 1881. We have worked since that time as a group of convivial, like-minded members promoting the freedom, independence, education and welfare of women and girls on local, state and national levels. AAUW Vancouver gives its members the opportunity to work towards significant goals, make friends, enjoy each other’s company and further their personal education through programs, interest groups and events. We strongly support the National AAUW goals, mission and vision statements.
The mission of AAUW Is to advance equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy.
National Vision Statement:
AAUW will be a powerful advocate and visible leader in equity and education through research, philanthropy, and measurable change in critical areas impacting the lives of women and girls.
We welcome you to join us at a branch meeting on the third Saturday of each month for a sample of what our organization has to offer. Descriptions of programs are in the current newsletter on this website. If you have any questions about our branch, please contact us. We would welcome your involvement.
