In 2009, Vancouver Branch AAUW opened its scholarship fund with the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Keeping the money we raise for scholarships in this fund allows our donors to take tax deductions for their donations and allows our branch to primarily use the interest on the fund for scholarships without spending the principal. In 2020, we awarded two $2,500 scholarships to undergraduate women at WSU-Vancouver and two $1,000 scholarships to undergraduate women at Clark College.
